Vitamin B1 (Vitamin B1, VB1) also known as thiamine is a white crystal, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol; hydrochloride is a white crystalline powder, easily deliquescent, has a bitter taste, is easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and has a melting point of 245 to 250°C. It easily decomposes and deteriorates under alkaline conditions.
